Edna Friman served the Trenton Public School District at all grade levels (Pre-K through Adult). She implemented multiple guidance-related programs for students who were dealing with issues common to urban youth. Edna also worked as a curriculum consultant providing interdisciplinary curriculum & subject development to educate teachers and implement standards-based curriculum in math, science, and computer technology.
During her years as a school principal, she created an environment where parents were engaged and felt welcome, and where a team atmosphere was fostered to meet students’ needs. After retiring from the district, Edna was hired by City Arts Trenton as Executive Director and continued enriching fine and performing arts activities for youth. Her many volunteer roles included President of the American Field Services – Trenton Chapter, Board Member with Trenton Community Music School, and participant in other civic/ community-based organizations.
